MANILA, Philippines – American pop superstar Katy Perry is all keyed up for her concert tonight at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
“I am so excited to PEACOCK in front of 25,000 Filipinos tonight singing every word, lil girls dreams do come true!” Perry said on her official Twitter account on Sunday afternoon.
Perry is currently in the country as a part of her "California Dreams" tour under Music Management International.
Based on reports on her tour, expect a greatest-hits concert from Perry, whose set list includes her No. 1 hits from her latest album, “Teenage Dream,” as well as older songs like “Hot N Cold,” “Ur So Gay,” “Waking Up in Vegas” and “I Kissed a Girl.”
The concert will open with “Teenage Dream,” and include her most recent hits “Last Friday Night,” “E.T.” and “The One That Got Away.”
In her U.S. concerts, Perry also included covers of Rihanna’s “Only Girl (In the World)” and Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair.”
The concert’s climax will be a one-two punch of “Firework” and “California Gurls,” while her encore, at least in the U.S., is a cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
Some of Perry’s Filipino fans already met the artist on Saturday for the launching of the singer’s perfume “Purr.”
There were also some local celebrities who patiently lined up just to get up close with the award-winning singer.
Expect more celebrities tonight for the Katy Perry concert.
KC Concepcion tweeted that she’s watching the concert with half-sisters Cloie Syquia and Garie Concepcion.
On Sunday, Jericho Rosales also tweeted: “Katy tix! Thanks SMART!”
