John Lloyd shares thoughts on 'Home Sweetie Home'
MANILA – Actor John Lloyd Cruz shared some of his thoughts about his newest project on ABS-CBN, the sitcom “Home Sweetie Home” with Toni Gonzaga.
In an interview on the comedy show “Banana Nite” aired Thursday, Cruz said it is not hard to make audiences laugh especially if he has a lot of good material to work on.
“Maganda kasi ang material. Kapag maganda ang material, hindi nagiging mahirap at nagiging madulas ang sitwasyon, sa script, sa eksena,” he explained.
When asked if it is easier for him to make audiences laugh than to make them cry, Cruz said: “Minsan madaling pumatak ang luha at madaling umiyak, pero hindi ibig sabihin na kapag umiyak ka ay iiyak din ang manonood sa iyo. In the same way na ang nakakatawa sa iyo ay [pwedeng] hindi nakakatawa sa iba. So medyo mahirap pumili rito.”
Cruz said he is just happy to do a sitcom with a good cast and director.
“Mahusay ang buong cast at director namin kaya maganda ang kinalabasan. For two consecutive weeks, kami ang number one,” he said.
Directed by Edgar “Bobot” Mortiz, “Home Sweetie Home” airs Sundays after “Goin’ Bulilit.”
