Police urge condo admin to cooperate in Vhong's case
MANILA – The Taguig Police is giving the security agency and the administrators of the condominium where Vhong Navarro was mauled until later Monday to coordinate with authorities.
In a press conference held on Monday, Taguig police chief Senior Supt. Arthur Felix Asis said they already talked to some officers of the Forbeswood Heights condominium.
“After [Navarro’s] interview, we were tasked by our regional director to take charge in investigating this case. We are now conducting an investigation and we have already communicated with Forbeswood Heights to cooperate with us regarding this incident. If they fail, then we have to charge them criminally or administratively,” he said.
Asis said they have required the administrators of the condominium and its security agency to provide them the necessary documents that will help resolve the case.
“We have required them to produce the CCTV footage from January 22 until January 25 kasi we might be able to find something na pwedeng makatulong sa investigation natin. Mayroon silang mga log book, siyempre pagpasok ng mga visitors. Sinasabi naman nila na mahigpit ang security. They have to furnish us a copy of this,” he said.
Asis stressed that “by law, they have no other recourse but to cooperate with us.”
“I myself went to the place and again I was able to talk to the security officer, ganun din ang sinagot niya -- na he is under orders to refrain from giving information. Sinabi namin sa kanya na allegedly there was a crime committed. We are urging you to cooperate with us,” he said.
Meanwhile, Asis also called on the aggrieved parties to come forward since no formal complaints have been made yet.
“We want this case to be resolved at the least possible time. Gagawin namin lahat para ma-resolve natin itong kaso. We still have to get the cooperation of the aggrieved party. Nananawagan din po kami kila Sir Vhong Navarro na makipagtulungan sa amin,” he said.
“Kung meron pong nakakaalam ng mga makakatulong, kung kailangan namin pumunta sa inyo, pupunta kami sa inyo para makatulong sa pag-resolve ng kaso or para malaman natin ang totoong pangyayari,” he added.
Earlier Monday, Navarro’s lawyer, Dennis Manalo, promised to get in touch with the Taguig police in connection with the incident.
