MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) - ABS-CBN's talent show "Showtime" will be back on the air next Monday, February 6, as the network's newest noontime program with a slightly new name, "It's Showtime."

According to the official statement from ABS-CBN released on Monday, the new show will be hosted by Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Kim Atienza, Teddy Corpus, Jugs Jugueta and Vice Ganda.

Joining them in "It's Showtime" are dance master Jhong Hilario, and favorite "ex hurados" Ryan Bang, and Coleen Garcia.

"Together, they will be bringing a new and more exciting show filled with surprises and engaging segments that will make viewers experience more fun in 'Showtime,"" Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, said in the statement.

"ABS-CBN thanks the 'madlang people,' here in the Philippines and in The Filipino Channel markets worldwide, for being with 'Showtime' and its hosts in their journey of bringing joy and hope every morning the past two years. ABS-CBN invites the viewers to continue their unwavering support for Showtime as it moves to noontime, from Monday to Saturday starting February 6," Osorio added.

Earlier, Vice Ganda said on "Kris TV" that "It's Showtime" will replace "Happy Yipee Yehey," which will air its final episode on Saturday, February 4.

"Magkikita-kita ulit tayo next Monday," Vice Ganda said.

Trendsetter

What began as a search for the country’s most entertaining acts two years ago turned out to be a hit variety program that launched a thousand trends for Filipinos here and abroad.

Since it went on air in October 2009, it became a source of the phrases "may nagtext," "party-party," "Baliwag University," and even propelled terms like "havey" and "waley" from obscurity into mainstream use.

"Madlang people" and "unkabogable," probably the past year’s biggest and most enduring words, are now infused into Filipinos’ everyday discussions and get-togethers.

Its immensely well-known "sample" segment also drives celebrities like its hosts and those who served as judges in the show and the audience out of their comfort zones.. When the crowd starts yelling, “Sample! Sample! Sample!” they should pull out all the stops for a talent exhibition that should be as compelling as possible.

The program also promoted gimmicks such as the ‘face dance,’ ‘nose-to-nose,’ and the ‘take your shirt off’ portion that became instant hits and endeared by audiences.

The much-anticipated ‘word of the day’ segment also challenges not only the hosts and judges but the ‘madlang people’ to formulate puns of strange-sounding English words.

'Magpasikat'

True to the slogan ‘magpasikat,’ “Showtime” has become the public arena in which gifted Filipinos showcase their wide-ranging talents and fulfill their simple wish to be seen on television.

Bringing only the best of Filipino talents, the hit show was the launching pad for dance groups  XB Gensan, its Season 1 champion, Laoag Gymnastics Group of Season 2, True Colors of Season 3, and Astig Pinoy of Season 4 that brought collective triumph to the barangays they represent.

Through the show’s ‘barangayan’ aspect, the contestants’ struggles and victory become a shared effort that binds their local communities. As long as the “Showtime” stage is set and ready, there is proof that success is always within reach to those who work hard enough to make their dreams come true.

Caravan

To promote the new time slot of "Showtime," Vice Ganda and the rest of his co-hosts will hold a caravan this Monday afternoon.

"It's 'Showtime.' Monday, today, mayroon kaming 'Unkabogable Bus' na lilibot mamaya alas dos ng hapon. Sa lahat ng madlang people, abangan ninyo kami mamaya, may party party bus kami mamayang 2 p.m., aalis kami ng ABS-CBN diretso kami ng EDSA to Crame. Tapos Crame to Santolan. Stop over kami ng Santolan. Tapos 4 p.m. allis kami ng Santolan tapos didiretso kami ng Barangay Nangka, Marikina," Vice Ganda said.

For viewers like me, I feel that using Anne as singer for the singing bee seems to confuse the contestants due to her out of tune singing. Her part is almost over and I still couldn't figure out what song she is singing. It could be my ignorance of new songs. Also, "madlang people" is getting old and tiring. Vice and her low-blow jokes are insulting. Giving money to talented audiences just comes from nowhere. Bad idea.

Eat bulaga

It's a bad move on part of ABS-CBN, people watching showtime most of them switch to EAT Bulaga at 12:00 noon, so, if the people in showtime think they can beat EB, its a suicidal move sa parte ng ABS-CBN..kawawa ang mga host nila, just like my family in Ilocos Norte, EB is there lunch show already...kawawa itong show na ito...

JRR

Thank you RYAN BANG is back

I am glad Ryan Bang is back, it make us laugh his funny guy, thank you once again, make him permanent, we love him most to SHOWTIME than the rest of the judges.

Eat Bulaga Forever

Pinoy Henyo is just one of the many segments people love from the noontime show, Eat Bulaga, and no other noontime show can match or surpass it's popularity among the many classes of society. You see in every party, Pinoy Henyo is being played and went viral already. The secret of EB's success' i guess is the they don't overdo their show and it suits to the taste of the masses.

Why do you even bother?

To ABS CBN: Why do you people even bother putting up a show that shares the same time slot as Eat Bulaga? Starting from Sang Linggo nAPO Sila to MTB to Wowowee to the countless other iterations of your noontime shows, hasn't it been obvious to you people that it is impossible for you to beat Eat Bulaga? Are you people blind? Numb? Masochistic? Or perhaps you hate money? Because you keep wasting money and effort into producing noontime shows that no one wants, no one watches and no one cares about. When will it ever get into your skulls that every noontime, it's either Eat Bulaga or the TV is off.

It's a wrong move for ABS-CBN

Showtime has a loyal following and was number 1 on their time-slot. It is stupid and a wrong move for ABS-CBN to put Showtime into the ratings war against GMA's Eat Bulaga. Like Showtime's predecessors, 'Sang Linggo nAPO Sila, Magandang Tanghali Bayan, Wowowee and the recent short-lived Happy Yippee Yehey.

What ever ratings bump from It's Showtime in the near future will just be short-lived as compared to Eat Bulaga's legacy as a noontime show institution.

It is truly a wrong move for ABS-CBN to pit a relatively safe show from any competition to face its ultimate demise at the hands of the comic legends, Tito, Vic and Joey as history always show.

It is a waste of money and talents. I feel sorry in advance to the cast of It's Showtime, though I laud their guts to face off against an institution like Eat Bulaga, but in the end, a simple dancing competition like Showtime cannot topple a legendary and always a trendsetter variety noontime show.

Overrated

This show is overrated. Let's see how they will fair with Eat Bulaga. I watched their show last Saturday and all I can say is they are all OA (Over Acting). They are fooling the people that they are bidding goodbyes, but in reality they will be transferred to a new time slot.

Eat Bulaga will eat this show alive.

Agree

I personaly agree with your comment that this show was over rated and was able to fool their loyal audiences with their "madlang people" tag. Infact their contest that lacks criterias most of the time suck... like gulat factor, repetitions yet one would notice goodlooks could be a talent already weird...then the farewell episode as if the group would be disbanding gimik that hopes to fool again their madlang people. This time slot seems to be a jinx for ABS-CBN.
