Jennylyn denies prohibiting Patrick to see their son
MANILA, Philippines – Actress Jennylyn Mercado denied reports saying she is prohibiting actor Patrick Garcia to see and visit their child.
In an interview with entertainment website Philippine Entertainment Portal, Mercado said Garcia can see their son Jazz anytime he wants to.
“Hindi… Walang ganoon, not true. Hindi totoo. Walang katotohanan ‘yun. Anytime, basta gusto nila. Basta gusto lang nila,” she said.
According to Mercado, she gets emotional everytime Jazz’s name gets dragged into any kind of controversy. She then pleaded to the press to stop asking her about her alleged rift with the actor.
“Basta ang importante, huwag lang kaming magamit ng anak ko… Please respeto na lang,” she said.
In a recent interview, Garcia said he’s hoping that everything between him and Mercado will turn out okay and they could still fix their problems.
"I've always explained to Jen naman. Kasi few months ago work was scarce, wala masyado, so 'yung suporta ko kay Jazz naho-hold back pero I explained to Jen na pagdating ng soap na ito I will always give to Jazz," he said.
"Pero feeling niya siguro I was really holding back because hindi ako nakapagbigay ng two months. Pero noong third month nakapagbigay ako, pero nangyari na lahat. So sana if she was just patient and if she just believed me na what I was saying was true sana hindi kami nagaway-away," he added.
It has been years since Garcia and Mercado called it quits.
Mercado is currently with TV host Luis Manzano, while Garcia is set to become a father again with his non-showbiz girlfriend.
