MANILA, Philippines – Queen of All Media Kris Aquino revealed that she has waived all her rights for paternal support from her former husband, professional basketball player James Yap.

This comes after their five-year-marriage was annulled by the court.

“Sinabi ko na kumikita ako and it will be voluntary on James’ part if he would want to share. Pero hindi ko siya inoobliga,” she said in an exclusive interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday.

Aquino, however, disclosed that Yap may visit their son Bimby anytime he wants to.

“He’s below 7 years old. Any time na a child is 7 and below, custody is with the mom. But it doesn’t mean na hindi siya puwedeng dalawin ni James because I am very lenient. Kung kailan kaya ng schedule ni James, he comes to the house. Bimby goes to see him. They go to Timezone, they go to kung saan-saan. Wala sa akin iyon,” she said.

Aquino earlier reveled that Bimby will still carry the family name Yap.

She, however, said that she will eventually need to “adopt” Bimby since he is an illegitimate child based on the grounds of their marriage.

“James signed the birth certificate so Bimby is a Yap but there are legal rights that I must take to protect both Josh and Bimby. Ang next step kasi dito, I need to adopt my children. That is very complicated and mawiweirdan ang mga tao... I need to adopt them para there is no question of inheritance later on,” she said.

Aquino also confirmed the report that she and Yap had a separation of properties even before their annulment.

“Yes, we did Boy, that’s the truth. You’re advised to do that by your lawyers and you’re advised to do that by the judge. It happened almost a year ago. Pinirmahan yon around the time of my birthday and James’ birthday last year,” she said.

According to Aquino, both of them got what was fair.

“I just want to say na kung nilaban namin to the end, actually there would not be any conjugal properties because there was no marriage to begin with. Pero ang pwede ko ipagmalaki sa lahat, hindi ako greedy na tao. I would like to give credit to James also kahit maraming nanunulsol sa kanya, he also was not greedy. I think it was fair,” she said.

Aquino said her marriage to Yap got annuled because of "lack of authority of the solemnizing officer."
