MANILA, Philippines -- Comedian John Lapus denied that there's bad blood between him and Vice Ganda after it was revealed that the upcoming movie "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy" was originally meant for Lapus.

In an interview on Monday, Lapus explained that the reason he won't be able to do the movie was scheduling conflicts.

He also said that the movie's director, his friend Wenn V. Deramas, informed him of the change in cast.

"Noong una nalungkot ako pero hindi naman sumama ang loob ko. Siyempre nalungkot ako kasi that project belongs to me at na conceptualized para sa akin. Nalungkot ako at first pero sabi ng Star Magic nangako naman ang Viva na may panibago," said Lapus.

This is the second time a movie meant for Lapus was given to the "It's Showtime" host. Lapus revealed that last year's hit comedy "This Guy's In Love With You Mare" which starred Vice Ganda, Toni Gonzaga and Luis Manzano, was first offered to him.

Lapus said his personal friendship with Vice Ganda has not been affected by these issues.

"Ganoon talaga kapag magkaibigan. Ini-isyu kami bakit daw di ako tinawagan. Eh trabaho 'yan at di naman ako manager niya, bakit ako tatawagan? So wala siyang problema. As a matter of fact ako ay happing-happy na kay Vice mapupunta ang (movie) na originally intended for me," he said.

Lapus also stressed that he has no ill-feelings towards Deramas.

"Nag-abiso, walang problema. Pati 'yung 'This Guy's In Love' inabisuhan niya ako. Kapag magkakaibigan kayo, eh text lang 'yan," he said.

Right now, Lapus is part of the hit series "Kahit Konting Pagtingin" and is also set to do two movies under Viva Films. He is also part of the upcoming movie of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, "Love Me, Maybe," which will open in March.

In an earlier interview with ABS-CBN News, Vice Ganda said "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy" is a dream project for him. "Pinangarap ko 'to, pinagdasal ko 'tong pelikulang ito, kaya gagalingan ko," he said.
