Billy, Jhong bring back 'Billy-Vhong' dance
MANILA - Amid the legal battles of "It's Showtime" co-host Vhong Navarro, the noontime program on Thursday brought back the segment where the comedian first popularized the dance craze dubbed "Billy-Vhong."
"Sine Mo 'To," a storytelling segment which taps audience members as actors, had been shelved to make way for newer segments like "Stars on 45" and "I Am Pogay."
But on Thursday, the segment made a special return engagement with Billy Crawford and Jhong Hilario doing the "Billy-Vhong" dance, which they then dedicated to the embattled Navarro.
"Alam natin na sobrang miss na natin si Vhong kaya everyday ginagawa natin 'to para sa kanya. We will all continue to pray for our kapatid, Vhong Navarro," Crawford said after the performance.
The two then proceeded to thank the fans who uploaded their own versions online, as well as "TV Patrol" for airing a report by Marc Logan on the dance craze.
"Maraming salamat sa aming mga kapamilya na nag-upload ng kanilang versions ng Billy-Vhong dance," added Hilario.
On Thursday, Navarro was finally allowed to leave the hospital after being confined for more than two weeks to re-affirm his complaint against the group of Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee and six others for attacking him inside a condominium unit last January 22.
Navarro filed a total of six criminal charges against the group: serious physical injuries, grave threat, grave coercion, unlawful arrest, blackmail, and serious illegal detention -- a non-bailable offense.
