MANILA, Philippines - Actor John Lloyd Cruz finally broke his silence on rumors that he was involved in the  break-up of John Prats and Shaina Magdayao.

Before flying to Malaysia to shoot some scenes for his upcoming movie, "I Miss You Like Crazy," Cruz first set the record straight.

He denied that he is the reason behind the break-up as he stressed that he and Magdayao are just friends.

"Kailangan lang siguro nating i-respeto ‘yong naging relasyon nila. Hindi lang kasi fair para sa kanilang dalawa. Kasi kung ano ang naging problema nila as a couple, kailangan nating hayaan ‘yon sa kanila,” he told “The Buzz” in a taped interview.

"Ako naman from my end, ang alam ko lang as far as I know and as far as I'm concerned talagang wala po tayong kinalaman. And my being friends with Shaina now has nothing to do with their break-up. Alam ni Shaina ‘yon, alam ni John ‘yon. Huwag na sanang i-push pa ang issue," Cruz added.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com last month, Magdayao confirmed the split, but she denied that a third party was involved.

"Wala pong third party. I think if there's anyone to blame siguro kaming dalawa lang ‘yon… at huwag na tayong mang-damay ng iba pa."
