'Party Pilipinas' on probation for Rocco-Lovi sexy dance
MANILA, Philippines -- The Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has placed "Party Pilipinas" on probation for six months over a sexy dance number aired last month.
In a decision released Friday, the MTRCB also ordered the GMA-7 concert variety program to air a public apology during its upcoming episode on Sunday. The same public apology should be published in a newspaper of general circulation by February 9, the agency said.
The "sexually-charged number" referred to by the MTRCB is the show's opening performance aired last January 27. It showed actor Rocco Nacino and actress Lovi Poe on a bed, simulating an apparent sexual act.
According to the MTRCB, the probation subjects "Party Pilipinas" to a per episode review for six months.
The MTRCB has also ordered the involved officers, directors and producers of the show to undergo sensitivity training.
On its official account on micro-blogging site Twitter, the MTRCB issued its full statement on the issue:
"MTRCB thanks GMA Network management for its candor, maturity, and cooperation in addressing the Party Pilipinas issue. MTRCB also thanks the public for its vigilance over the Party Pilipinas matter.
"The Party Pilipinas issue was an opportunity for the network and its audience to dialogue through the MTRCB."
