Vice Ganda makes surprise return to 'Showtime'
MANILA, Philippines -- After his hospitalization, Vice Ganda made a surprise appearance during the live broadcast of "It's Showtime" on Saturday.
The 36-year-old actor-comedian, who was confined for two days at St. Luke's Medical Center, joined his fellow hosts on the noontime variety program mid-telecast.
The hosts of "It's Showtime" customarily appear together during the staple "dancing madlang people" opening number. Vice Ganda only appeared on stage after the first segment of the show, drawing cheers from the audience.
He said, "Sabi ko sa doktor, hindi naman ako gagaling pag na sa ospital ako. Pag nandito ako sa studio -- nandito na ako!"
In jest, he added, addressing the audience, "Kaya kailangan makiuso kayo. Andito po ako para hawahan kayong lahat!"
Vice Ganda also thanked his fellow hosts and the "madlang people" for praying for his recovery. He also expressed gratitude to the staff of St. Luke's Medical Center.
It was on Thursday when the "Praybeyt Benjamin" star shared on micro-blogging site Twitter that he had been hospitalized.
Last Monday, he said, also on the social networking site, that he had been nursing a flu.
