MANILA, Philippines – Actress Tetchie Agbayani admitted on Friday that her nude pictorial for Playboy magazine changed her life.

Without going into details, Agbayani said the Playboy shoot brought changes to her life that were “both good and bad.”

“They were shocked at that time. And I didn’t know what the fuss was about because when I did the project, it was for the German edition. So I was confident that it wouldn’t reach the Philippines but when it did, I was shocked myself. I liked the pictures but I didn’t understand the hoopla,” the actress told ABS-CBN’s “Bandila” on Friday.

Agbayani said that although she is proud of her Playboy shoot, she did not keep a copy of the magazine.

“When you go to my house, I don’t have galleries and pictures of myself. I’m very ‘un-showbiz’ that way,” she said.

When Agbayani agreed to do the nude photoshoot for the men’s magazine in July 1982, she had several conditions that allowed her to express herself freely.

One of the conditions included giving her the freedom to pose as she pleases.

“I didn’t want to be posing in a way that I think would be unacceptable or vulgar. I wanted to have the freedom because my idea was, when I pose for Playboy, I wanted to show the world my curves. And I am quite flexible and I wanted to showcase that. I wanted it to be artsy,” she said.

Agbayani, who is also a psychology teacher, said she does not regret posing nude for the magazine.

“I’ve gone beyond that. I’ve done other things,” she said.

Agbayani co-stars with John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin in the romantic comedy film “Unofficially Yours," which will hit theaters on February 15.
