MANILA, Philippines -- Former cast members of the children's comedy show "Goin' Bulilit" are set to star in "Luv U," a new comedy series about tweens.
Featured in “Luv U” are former "bulilits" Miles Ocampo, Angeli Gonzales, Kiray Celis, CJ Navato and Igi Boy Flores. The program also introduces young heartthrob Marco Gumabao.
“I’m really honored to be part of Kapamilya Comedy’s ‘Luv U.’ This is my first ever project, so I’ll do my best,” Gumabao said.
Also in the cast of “Luv U” are veteran comedians Joy Viado, Smokey Manaloto and Bangs Garcia.
"Luv U” is the story of three young girls Camille (Ocampo), Whitney (Celis) and April (Gonzales), who just transferred to Lamberto Uy Villarama University, or Luv U, to finish high school. On their first day at the new school, they caught the attention of JB (Gumabao), Boom (Navato) and Rocky (Flores). Despite the strict warning of their grandma (Viado), Camille and her cousins continue to pursue the path to teen romance.
In an interview, Ocampo said she’s ready for the new role and excited for the project because she herself enjoys high school life.
“The program will really make us laugh, but it will also teach a lot of lessons. Young people out there can really relate with this,” she said.
Ocampo said she’s indebted to "Goin’ Bulilit," where she started doing comedy. “Direk Bobot Mortiz didn’t only train us to be good actors, he also instilled in us values that can be helpful in our careers,” she said.
“Luv U” premieres on February 19 after “ASAP Rocks” on ABS-CBN.
