MANILA, Philippines – Actor John Lloyd Cruz feels privileged that he was able witness Sarah Geronimo grow as an actress from the first time that they worked together seven years ago.

Speaking on the final episode of “Sarah G Live” which he co-hosted on Sunday, Cruz noted that Geronimo has matured as an actress.

“Gusto ko lang po i-share sa inyong lahat na ngayon, may napansin akong iba sa approach [ni Sarah] sa acting. I am so proud of all your achievements,” he said.

Having starred in two blockbuster movies, Cruz said he is proud of Geronimo’s achievements and promised to be there for the actress no matter what.

“Happy ako na kahit papaano nawi-witness ko up close 'yung kanyang growth... Talagang promise ko sa ’yo, as you go to the next level, nandito ako. Mula ‘A Very Special love,’ ‘You Changed My Life,’ mula nung episode na 'yun ng MMK, hindi na ako aalis. Nandito lang ako,” he said.

Cruz and Geronimo are currently shooting their movie “It Takes A Man and A Woman” which is billed as the final installment in their teamup as Laida and Miggy.

Now that their movie nears its playdate, Cruz said he feels bittersweet that their characters in the movie, which viewers have learned to love, will now come to an end.

“Well I’m excited na malapit na ipalabas 'yung pelikula. Pero at the same time nakakalungkot kasi last na ito. After nito, magkasama man ulit kami sa pelikula, wala na 'yung Miggy-Laida, ibang storya na. So in a way, excited ako pero may konting lungkot kasi bye-bye na kami sa dalawang characters," he said.

"But you can expect a more mature kind of story. Ibang-iba si Sarah dito. Ang cute isipin na si Sarah 'yung mas familiar sa New York. Para siyang New Yorker sa mga eksena namin at 'yun 'yung isa sa mga dapat abangan sa movie,” he added.

Aside from their upcoming movie, Cruz revealed he is also open to working with Geronimo again.

“Masarap pakinggan [na gusto niya akong makatrabaho ulit], nakakatuwa isipin, sana nga mangyari. Ako rin kasi gusto ko mag-sitcom eh. Gusto ko magkasama kami,” he said. - wtih a report from Push.com.ph
