As reports swirled in Hollywood about the purported violent fight between international American singers Chris Brown and Rihanna, actress Ruffa Gutierrez said it was sad to know that violence still exists between two people who are in a relationship.

“I can relate to her (Rihanna). In any relationship, violence is a big no-no… Bakit kailangan gumamit ng karahasan?” Gutierrez told reporters.

Gutierrez herself was a victim of domestic violence. She publicly admitted that she was physically abused by her estranged Turkish husband, Ylmas Bektas.

The actress-host added that domestic violence is one of the topics she wants to discuss in her upcoming morning show with comedienne Ai-ai delas Alas titled “Ruffa and Ai.”

'A different Ruffa Gutierrez'

Meanwhile, the Miss World 1993 Second Princess said the public can expect “a different Ruffa Gutierrez” in the show, which will be aired beginning February 16.

She said people will see the “vulnerable” and the “independent” part of her.

She also refused to be compared to Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino, saying she and her co-hosts in show business talk show “The Buzz” have a different style of hosting.

“Our show is not serious at all,” she said.

“Ruffa and Ai” is taking the timeslot of “Boy & Kris,” which will be moved to primetime.

With her morning show, Gutierrez will now be working six days a week but the actress said she doesn’t mind.

She added that it has always been her dream to host a morning show.

“I’ll do my best... [I’ll give my] 200 percent to give them a show. [I would] really work hard to give them a good show,” she said.

For the pilot episode of “Ruffa and Ai” on Monday, meanwhile, delas Alas shared that their guests will be actor Gabby Concepcion and singer-actress Sarah Geronimo.
