(UPDATE) Melai wins PBB Double Up
MANILA, Philippines -- Housemate Melisa Cantiveros was declared the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Double Up edition during the show's finale at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium Saturday night.
Garnering the highest text votes of 32.08%, Melisa, or Melai, took home P1 million cash prize, P2.5 million worth of house and lot, a water refilling station franchise, and a 40-inch LCD TV screen among other prizes. Her chosen charity group also received P1 million.
The 21-year-old housemate from General Santos City overtook housemate Paul Jake Castillo, who led the text votes as of Tuesday.
"I love you kaayo (so much)! Hindi ko ine-expect ito... thank you very much sa parents ko. I love you Lord! I love you Big Brother! Jason, thank you," Melai said before thousands of her cheering fans.
Jason Francisco, Melai's love team inside the PBB house and who was also part of the Big Five, gave Melai a hug and kiss on stage to the delight of their avid supporters.
"Congratulations sa iyo. Isay, ang galing mo," Jason said.
Paul Jake settled for 2nd place after getting 27.31% of the text votes. Jason landed in 3rd place after garnering 24.97% of votes.
Johan Santos nabbed 4th place while Tibo Jumalon ended up in 5th place.
Johan got 7.94% of the total number of text votes while Tibo got 7.69%.
Tibo, the first PBB 5th Big Placer, received P100,000 cash prize; Johan, P200,000; Jason, P300,000; and Paul Jake, P500,000. Each of them also won a Sony Vaio laptop.
Fans flocked to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium Saturday night for PBB Double Up edition's finale.
A convoy of 30 vehicles arrived at the PBB House in Quezon City at 4:30 p.m. to pick up the 5 housemates.
Aside from seeing their favorite housemates, fans were treated to star-studded performances.
Among those who performed at the Big Night were Yeng Constantino, Bugoy Drilon, Charice, Angelica Panganiban, Shaina Magdayao, Kim Chiu and international dance group Jabawockeez. The former housemates of the Double Up season also performed on stage.

I vowed never to watch PBB since the very first season, because i am a loyalist, but when i happened to watch MELASON on ASAP, with that song and dance number, i said i could probably make a consideration on this one...and i'm glad i did!...hehehe... Some people may have found you to be loud and irritating sometimes, but for me, I appreciated you more for your kindness and humility. Your big personality brought you to a well deserved victory. As always, controversy lingers. Malisyoso talaga isip ng madaming tao. Let us accept that there is always one winner and others are losers. But being a PBB housemate makes all of them winners. Let's not cast doubt on the results.

wonder why melai who was in 3rd place 4days before the big nite came as the big winner..that 1.2million votes was paul jakes! bakit naibigay kay melai? wud somebody initiate an audit? sure SGV was there pero dun lang sila sa pag authenticate what was written on the card. SGV did not audit the txts who came in. personnaly wala ako personal fave para iboto sa batch na ito, they all don't deserve to be at the PBB.paul jake was pipols fave..this melai is so irritating..together wid jason..dapat cguro ang nanalo ay si tibo na lang eh..but u know..pinoy sometimes don't use their intelligence in voting...
