Kris praises PNoy for being there for her sons
MANILA, Philippines -- Now that she is a single parent after her marriage to basketball player James Yap has been annulled, host-actress Kris Aquino is thankful that her brother, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, is always there to guide her sons.
In an interview during the press conference for the fourth season of "Pilipinas Got Talent" on Wednesday, Aquino was asked what the President is giving her for her birthday on Thursday, Valentine's Day.
The "Pilipinas Got Talent" judge said her brother doesn't have to give her anything anymore given all the things he has done for her family.
"It's more than enough na every time mayroon akong out of town (work), the kids stay with him. It's more than enough na the last time when I did that -- General Santos -- ay pinlano niya talaga ('yung bonding with kids). As in nanood sila ng movie, kumain sila sa labas. Wala na akong mahihingi kasi kung ano man ang kakulangan doon sa male figure in the lives of my two sons, the busiest man in the Philippines makes time for them. So okay na 'yon," Aquino said.
The President's youngest sister also commended her brother for always being "super concerned" about the welfare of her sons Joshua and James "Bimby" Yap Jr.
"Pati kapag PG-13, hindi niya pinayagan na panoorin kasi Parental Guidance baka matira siya at hindi siya ang parent, so hindi sila nanood," she said. "And anytime talaga hindi siya maka-no kapag si Josh na ang nag-text."
That's why Aquino no longer expects material gifts from her brother for her birthday.
"In all fairness talaga, he doesn't have to give me anything material. It's more than enough that he gives his time to my sons," she said.
Asked for her birthday wish, Aquino said that she would like to buy properties where she can build homes for her and her sons.
Aquino turns 42 on Thursday.
