MANILA, Philippines – Anne Curtis was moved to tears during the live telecast of "It's Showtime" on Saturday, as her family members surprised her by visiting the noontime program to celebrate her birthday.

The Kapamilya actress, who is turning 28 on Sunday, did not expect her mother Carmencita Ojales to make it the show, as she had been scheduled to undergo an operation same time as the program. Ojales was accompanied to the stage by Jasmine, Anne's younger sister.

Asked for her message to her daughter, Ojales said, "I'm so proud of you, Anne. Wala na akong mahihiling pa sa diyos, lahat ng dreams mo have come true. And your new dreams, sana marating mo pa."

"Sana huwag kang makakalimot sa lahat... Sa taas, manalangin palagi. Thank you very much sa lahat ng tulong mo sa akin, sa mga kapatid mo at God bless you. I love you," Ojales added.

For her part, Jasmine expressed gratitude to her sister for her role in strengthening the ties among their family members. Ojales and Curtis' father, James Curtis-Smith, also have a son named Thomas.

Addressing Anne, Jasmine said, "We're just really thankful to have you because without you, this family, I don't think, will be able to understand each other the way we do. You make it such an enjoyable moment everytime we're together, despite any difficulties we go through."

Turning emotional, Jasmine added, "You just know the perfect words and the perfect feelings to be able to comfort everyone. We just want to say we love you so much and we hope you have the best birthday ever."

Anne's father, an Australian national, was already inside the studio when the "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" star opened the program with a song-and-dance production number.

"It's such a rare moment na mangyari 'to, na kumpleto kami with my dad, with my mom," Anne said, crying.

"Pero I'm just thankful that both of you are still great friends kahit na hindi na kayo together," she added, addressing both her parents.

In an earlier interview, Anne said her mom and dad separated when she was 16 years old. The actress has several other half-siblings, aside from Jasmine and Thomas.

"I just want to say thank you so much for coming here today in celebrating my birthday with me, because kahit paano, I'm with my 'Showtime' family, and I'm with my family and we're complete, so thank you," Anne said.
