“Wowowee” host Willie Revillame is confined to a hospital in Quezon City since Sunday due to a heart condition.

On Tuesday’s “Showbiz News Ngayon,” host Boy Abunda disclosed that Revillame is undergoing an angiogram procedure at St. Luke's Medical Center.

Abunda explained that the said procedure would determine if the Wowowee host needs to go through angioplasty, a surgery which aims to unclog obstructed blood vessels.

In August 2008, Revillame underwent an executive check-up, which revealed that he has throat, heart, and intestinal problems.

He then admitted that his doctors had advised him to have a one-month rest but failed to heed this advice because of work.

Randy Santiago has temporarily replaced Revillame as host of the noon-time show.
