Kris Aquino, Vicki Belo settle differences
Time does heal all wounds. After a public falling-out two years ago, actress-host Kris Aquino and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo have finally settled their differences and have rekindled their friendship.
In an exclusive interview on ABS-CBN's "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon" Thursday night, Aquino and Belo faced each other and talked about their much publicized spat over the rumored affair between Aquino's husband, James Yap, and an employee at one of Belo's beauty clinics.
Yap publicly denied having an affair and received constant support from Aquino who was pregnant with their first child. The incident led to Aquino's resignation as endorser of the Belo Medical Group.
In the SNN interview, Belo and Aquino both admitted how they missed each other.
"Of course palagi ko namang sinasabi na nami-miss kita kasi napakasaya mong tao and I learn a lot from you like the best hair, the best feng shui...," Belo said.
Aquino pointed out that it was hard to avoid Belo since they have a common circle of friends. "Sinabi ko nga it's so hard to avoid you because all the people I'm closest to are very close to you so I always hear your name," she said.
Aquino admitted that it was fellow ABS-CBN host Willie Revillame who urged her to make the first move and patch things up with Belo. Revillame is the latest celebrity endorser of Belo Medical Group.
"I felt it was parang prophetic kasi Willie told me while we are on his yacht, sabi niya 'Alam mo kung sino ang mabait talaga? Si Doctora (Belo). Ano galit ka pa?' Sabi ko: ''Hindi ako galit sa kanya' so parang 'yon ang sinasabi nila sa akin so I felt it was nice to reach out also," Aquino said.
Belo hurt by Kris' verbal jab in billboard
Belo, meanwhile, revealed that she was hurt when the rival beauty clinic that Aquino endorsed decided to capitalize on their very public spat. It can be recalled that Aquino endorsed Calayan Surgicenter after she quit endorsing Belo.
Belo reminded Aquino how the actress sent a text message to inform [Belo] that she was leaving.
"Nag-text siya. Super polite, ang ganda nga, sabi ko ang ganda ng break natin. 'Thank you, doktora, for everything. I really love my body,"" Belo said.
She said she was later surprised to see Aquino's new billboard that had the words "I deserve better."
"I thought we were OK? kilala kita kung ayaw mo yung copy hindi nila pwedeng ilagay yon," Belo asked Aquino.
Aquino, in return, said: "Ito lang, in my total defense, have I ever thanked anybody else for any body work?"
The two still ended up saying that they love each other. Belo also thanked Aquino's SNN co-host Boy Abunda for being good to her and for not saying bad words against her.
"Thank you, Boy, for not saying anything bad about me and I didn't say anything bad about him. It's sad because it's a long friendship," Belo added.
Breast reduction
During the interview, Belo admitted that she has undergone a number of cosmetic surgical procedures including breast reduction.
"Boobs ko real pero pinaliit ko. I had my eyes done because it's sagging, then I got my nose done, then I did lypo of my arms, my stomach, my legs. (Sa likod) wala pa, sa chin wala it's all mine, (the cheeks?) I did botox here para lumiit," Belo said.
Aquino also asked Belo to name the top three loves of her life. "Alam mo that would have to be Atom (Henares), Dondi (Santos) and Hayden (Kho)," the doctor admitted.
