Zaijan plays kid with progeria in next soap
MANILA, Philippines --Child star Zaijan Jaranilla will play a boy suffering from progeria in his next soap with the new working title, "Lorenzo's Time."
Progeria, or Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome, is a rare genetic condition wherein symptoms resembling aspects of aging are manifested at an early age.
In an interview during a photo shoot for his series," Jaranilla said this will be his first time to play a character who is rich.
"First time ko po maging mayaman. Ang sarap po ng (pakiramdam)," the child actor said.
"Ang 'Lorenzo's Time' ay maganda po at maraming matutunan tulad ng pagbibigayan at pagmamahalan ganoon po," he said.
Jaranilla, currently a Grade 4 student at Angelicum College, shot to fame for playing Santino in the phenomenal series "May Bukas Pa."
"Lorenzo's Time" is Jaranilla's newest series after the recently concluded "Ikaw Ay Pag-Ibig."
"Maganda po 'yung role ko," he said.
The upcoming series also stars Alfred Vargas, Gina Pareño and Carmina Villaroel.
"Lorenzo's Time" is set to replace "Budoy," which is now on its final three weeks.
It might air on the first week of March.
