KC, Cristine, Meg ink deal with ABS-CBN
MANILA -- Two Kapamilya actresses renewed their ties with ABS-CBN on Thursday, with a returning talent looking to re-launch her showbiz career with the Philippines' largest broadcasting company.
KC Concepcion, Cristine Reyes and Meg Imperial inked their respective deals as talents of ABS-CBN during a contract-signing with executives of the Kapamilya network.
The careers of all three actresses are managed by Viva Artists Agency, the talent management firm of entertainment production company Viva Entertainment.
In attendance at the event on Thursday were ABS-CBN Channel Head Cory Vidanes, Business Unit Head and director Laurenti Dyogi, and ABS-CBN CEO Charo Santos-Concio.
Concepcion, whose acting career was launched by ABS-CBN in 2008, is set to star in a series alongside Judy Ann Santos later this year.
Her contract, the 27-year-old actress said, will also have her do more hosting projects other than the reality singing contest "The X Factor Philippines."
"I'm really happy na nag-stay ako as Kapamilya. Kasi kung tutuusin ay dito naman ako lumaki," the daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion said.
Reyes, meanwhile, is excited over her upcoming projects with the Kapamilya network, inculding a "teleserye" co-starring Gerald Anderson.
The 24-year-old actress, who was a finalist in a reality talent search aired on GMA7, transferred to ABS-CBN in 2008.
"One year and five months or six months 'yung sinign ko na contract. I think more than three years na [ako with ABS-CBN]. Super enjoying and super love ko talaga dito sa ABS-CBN," she said.
"Alam mo 'yun, sobrang naalagaan lahat ng artista, lahat ng mga veterans and kaming mga young ones," Reyes said.
Imperial signed a two-year contract with the Kapamilya network, which she hopes will give way to her taking on more dramatic roles.
Late last year, the 19-year-old actress was launched as a "sexy star" by Viva Artists Agency by having her appear on the cover of men's magazine FHM and star in the adult film "Menor de Edad."
Her return to ABS-CBN -- she was a former Kapamilya talent before joining TV5 -- was marked by a starring role in last Saturday's episode of the ABS-CBN drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya." -- with a report from Reyma Buan-Deveza, ABS-CBNnews.com
