Did Alma Moreno get married or not?
Did she or didn’t she?
Reports swirled last week that actress-turned-politician Alma Moreno and an unnamed mayor of a Mindanao town tied the knot last January 25.
In his column in The Philippine Star, entertainment writer Ricky Lo wrote that Moreno’s former husband, Joey Marquez, confirmed the reported wedding.
Reports also said that the civil ceremony was supposedly held in Cebu and that Moreno, the councilor of Parañaque City, became the second wife of the Muslim mayor.
On “The Buzz” Sunday, however, columnist-host Jobert Sucaldito, quoting his reliable source, belied the reports.
Sucaldito said his source, purportedly a spokesperson for the mayor, told him that there was no wedding.
“At walang magaganap na kasalan because he cannot disappoint his wife na 21 years, who is an assemblywoman ng ARMM (Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao)… this woman is the love of his life,” Sucaldito said.
The mayor, Sucaldito added, has no plans either to marry other women. “He would like to maintain only one wife.”
The mystery further deepened after The Buzz host Boy Abunda, quoting Moreno, announced that the wedding is on.
Describing his conversation with Moreno as “emotional,” Abunda said: “Ito ang binitawan niyang salita, ‘abangan niyo po, tuloy ang kasal.’”
So what’s the real score?
Abunda said Moreno will answer point-by-point all the issues surrounding her reported second wedding as she agreed to give an exclusive interview to both “The Buzz” and “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.”
