Ruffa 'stressed' to pose with ex Robin: 'Baka may magalit'
Action star ready to 'fight for love'
MANILA, Philippines -- Ruffa Gutierrez was admittedly "stressed" when Robin Padilla, her former boyfriend, placed his hand on her waist as they posed for cameras at a press event on Thursday.
The 38-year-old actress-host and the Kapamilya action star were formally introduced Thursday night as the cover personalities of the anniversary issues of the local fashion publication Mega.
When the former couple exchanged pleasantries at the event, Gutierrez quipped, "Baka may magalit ah. 'Di bali, friend ko naman si Mariel."
Proceeding to pose side-by-side for photos, Padilla held Gutierrez by her waist, prompting the actress-host to say, "Nakaka-stress! Parang kinakabahan ako, nanginginig ako."
Padilla also observed the same; addressing Gutierrez, he said, "Parang nanginginig ka." Gutierrez responded: "Nase-stress ako eh."
When asked why she feels "stressed," the former "The Buzz" host said, "Nase-stress ako eh, ewan ko... Kasi -- wala lang."
Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Gutierrez admitted, however, that she still feels a certain "kilig" when seeing her former boyfriend.
"Syempre nakakakilig naman si Robin because he's an icon, and makikita mo naman, hindi siya tumatanda. He still looks fresh, he takes care of himself. He actually looks better now than he did before," she said.
Robin fights for Mariel
The 43-year-old action star is now married to actress-host Mariel Rodriguez, with whom Gutierrez co-hosted a showbiz-oriented talk show last year.
Early this month, Padilla and Rodriguez admitted having a marital squabble over the actor's intimate scenes with another former girlfriend, actress-host Kris Aquino, in the primetime series "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw."
On live television, Padilla sought to reconcile with Rodriguez by putting back her wedding ring, which she had removed supposedly after watching the "love scene" of her husband and Aquino.
The two have since reconciled.
"Maraming issue ang naganap eh," Padilla told ABS-CBN News on Thursday. "Mahirap kasi ang maging reputasyon ng isang lalaki ay laging nahihiwalay, hindi maganda 'yun."
"Kaya minsan kailangan dapat mong pinaglalaban ang pag-ibig," he said.
Before Rodriguez, Padilla was married to Liezl Sicango, with whom he has four children -- Queenie, Kylie Nicole, Sherileen Zel and Allih.
Padilla also said that Rodriguez is now past the "issue" of his intimate scenes with Aquino.
Referring to his work with Gutierrez, the action star expressed confidence his wife won't feel jealous. "Hindi pa naman kami naghahalikan. Hindi naman ganoon kababaw 'yung asawa ko. Siguro pag nag-love scene kami ngayon," he said in jest.
