Veteran actor Johnny Delgado has revealed for the first time that he was diagnosed with lymphoma, or cancer of the lymph nodes, last year.

In an interview with “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” Delgado assured that he is responding well to chemotherapy.

“Okay na ako. Ang laki ng improvement. Lumabas na ang mga result, okay na okay naman,” he said. “’Yong mga cancer sisirain ang organ, luckily walang nasira sa aking organ -- liver, kidney, heart or lungs.”

The husband of well-respected director Laurice Guillen said he still has to undergo two more sessions of chemotherapy  

“Bahala na ang Diyos tiwala naman akong hindi [Niya] ako papabayaan,” he said.

In a span of two years, this was the second time that Delgado, who is a testicular cancer survivor, was diagnosed with cancer.
