MANILA, Philippines - Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos is not yet thinking of resorting to cosmetic surgeries to look young again just what Nora Aunor, her once strong rival in show business, recently did.

“I mean whether we like it or not we are not getting any younger. Sabi nga ay hindi maiiwasan ang pagtanda ng tao, but I guess ang pinaka-importante ay may pinagkatandaan,” the actress-turned-politician told ABS-CBN News.

The 56-year-old governor though did not totally rule out the possibility of trying cosmetic enhancement procedures in the future. However, she said she needs to overcome her fear of injections first.

Besides, she added, she is still happy and contented with her looks.

She, however, pointed out that there is nothing wrong if Aunor, 56, decided to have cosmetic enhancement treatments such as facelift, eyebag removal, and dermal fillering.

"At least matapang tapang siyang tanggapin 'yon kasi ako takot diyan…. Kapag pumasok na ang kumare ko diyan just to enhance her beauty, there's nothing wrong with that,” she said.

Santos was among those who got excited upon hearing the news that Aunor would make a comeback in Philippine showbiz after a long hiatus. She also hopes that she and Aunor will be given a chance to do a movie together.

"I'm sure magco-coordinate at mag-uusap kami niyan pagbalik niya dito," Santos said.

She, however, said her showbiz career will have to take a backseat because her main priority right now is the province of Batangas.

"Diyan nga ako tinitira sa movie [ng mga kalaban ko sa politika]. Now with Nora doing a movie, let's just wait and see. But now ang priority ko after doing 'In My Life' is to serve Batangas first," Santos, who is seeking re-election, said.

Star Cinema's "In My Life" was Santos' blockbuster film that was screened last year. She starred alongside son Luis Manzano and John Lloyd Cruz.
