Dennis Padilla offers advice to daughter Julia
MANILA – Dennis Padilla is looking forward to the upcoming television series of his daughter, Julia Barretto, which will reportedly premiere next month.
In an interview with entertainment site Push.com.ph, Padilla said Barretto’s patience and dedication will surely show in “Mirabella.”
“I want to see her acting there kasi mahirap, puyat at saka pagod, may prosthetics. Eh ako nung araw pa lang, nung bata pa ako ayokong-ayoko kapag nagpo-prosthetics sa pelikula, ang hirap. Kaya dito ko makikita ‘yung patience ni Julia, ‘yung acting ni Julia in spite of the hardship behind the shooting that teleserye,” he said.
“Sabi ko lang sa kanya be patient at maging mapagmahal sa fans. Bigyan ng oras ang mga fans dahil itong mga fans mo ang nag-aalaga sa career mo rin and be thankful sa lahat ng nakakatrabaho mo,” he added.
Aside from always reminding his daughter about loving her work, Padilla said he also told the teen actress not to mind her bashers.
“Sabi ko pabayaan niya na lang basta hanapbuhay lang. Isipin mo it’s work and doon sa mga fans. Let’s enjoy life at ‘wag niyo ng bigyan ng kulay ang ganon dahil the more the merrier. Kung mas maraming masaya eh dim as okay. Kailangan maging masaya both sides,” he said.
A picture of a proud father, Padilla commended Barretto for trying to juggle work and school.
“Despite being busy, nakakapag-school pa rin siya, mga twice a week. Sabi ko nga sa kanya basta kaya mong tapusin ‘yung pag-aaral mo kahit medyo matagalan, importante na makatapos ka rin despite your popularity,” he said.
Believing Barretto will be “the next superstar,” Padilla said: “Basta ang sabi ko lang sa kanya pagbutihan niya because ‘you are so blessed' and I’m sure naman na magiging successful.”
