Actor Jake Cuenca admitted that he has been sending young actress Melissa Ricks and her family flowers and food but maintained that he is not wooing her.

The actor said his gesture was just meant to show that he appreciates their friendship.  

“Kung mayroon man kayong nalalaman na pagpapadala ng roses and food, that’s really friendship. I mean, pagkakaibigan lang talaga namin ‘yon. Na a-appreciate ko talaga ang friendship niya at ‘yon talaga ayaw kong sayangin ‘yon,” the actor said.

Cuenca said he and Ricks met on the set of television series “Pedro Penduko," and they got close when they became part of the musical variety show “ASAP.”

He said it would not be difficult for him to fall in love with Ricks. He described her as a “wonderful and very beautiful woman, religious person, and very hardworking.”

Cuenca, popularly known as "Palos," added that if he will court a girl, he will do it the traditional Filipino way like going to the house of the object of his affection.

During the press launch of her new TV project, "Your Song Presents: Underage," Ricks disclosed that  she received flowers from Cuenca last Valentine’s day.

She, however, also denied that he was courting her.

What if Cuenca pursues her?

Ricks said: “Hindi ko pa alam. Siguro dapat ay makilala  ko pa siya...makikita na lang natin kung ano ang mangyayari.  Hindi ko naman masasagot  ‘yan.”  SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon
