Megastar Sharon Cuneta and ace comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas are set to star in a comedy film together for the first time.

The film will be Star Cinema’s Mother’s Day offering and will be under the direction of Wenn Deramas. 

Aside from Cuneta and delas Alas, who will play as best friends, stars John Estrada, Candy Pangilinan and Chokoleit will also be part of the movie.

Cuneta's love interest in the still untitled movie is Estrada while delas Alas' partner will still be a surprise. The shooting will begin this month.

Cuneta said she is excited to be working with delas Alas and Deramas in the long overdue film. 

“At sabi ko nga kapag excited ang mga artista at direktor na gawin ang movie, makikita niyo po yan sa screen. Sana po ay abangan niyo,” Cuneta said. 

The two lead stars are also unfazed by possible intrigues and controversies that might surface as they do the film. They also maintained that there won’t be any competition between them.

“You have to give kung anong ikakaganda ng eksena niyong dalawa… kapag nanlamang ka ay mawawala sa iyo ang respeto ng audience,” Cuneta said.

Delas alas also pointed out that both of them are already “matured” to get affected by the "rivalry" issue while Cuneta maintained that they are professional artists.  The Buzz
