“I am you, you are me… rainy days are here again. It’s that time of year, my friend, and I hope it never ends for you, for me, for them…”

Pia Arroyo Magalona, widow of master rapper Francis Magalona, whispered these words in his ear as she said her last goodbye to her husband as he laid on his death bed.

Magalona told “The Buzz,” which paid tribute to the late master rapper, that it was a line from a song Francis had composed himself.

“Rainy days it means, di ba when it rains it pours, there are blessings. He wrote in that song na ‘I hope it never ends’…’for them’ it means for everyone...[na] sana laging beautiful kasi Francis lived in a dream, his dream for peace,” Magalona said.

She said she also told Francis that she loved him and that she was grateful for the times they spent together.

The rapper, 44, succumbed to leukemia past noon Friday after battling cancer for nearly eight months.

The Magalona family agreed to have a public viewing for his fans from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Saturday until Tuesday.

As early as 6 a.m. on Saturday, fans had already lined up to see the remains of the country's leading rap artist. More people continued to line up two days after he passed away.

Magalona said a life without Francis, her husband for more than 20 years, is difficult but their eight children - Una, Nicolo, Maxene, Francis Jr. Saab, Arkin, Elmo and Clara - are her source of strength.

Saab, meanwhile, remembered her father as a “very, very happy and funny guy.” Saab shared that her father didn’t lose his sense of humor in spite of his illness.

“Even [during his] last few weeks, mom made us listen sa radio on cellphone. He was trying to be [news anchor] Mike Enriquez and he was interviewing himself. It was really funny. He was laughing. He was really that kind of guy. He was a very, very happy guy,” Saab said.

The king of Pinoy rap’s remains will be cremated on Wednesday, March 11, 9 a.m. at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City.
