Maja Salvador has message for Kim Chiu
MANILA, Philippines – Maja Salvador said she has done her part in salvaging her friendship with Kim Chiu.
In an interview with the entertainment news program "Cinemanews," the 24-year-old actress said she is now "waiting," when asked on the status of her relationship with her "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" co-star.
"Naghihintay lang ako... Naghihintay lang ako, kasi kailan lang naman ako tumigil mag-effort... Kahit anong mangyari, kaibigan pa rin niya ako," she said.
It was in early January when Chiu expressed regret over her "wasted" friendship with Salvador, following reports of a blooming relationship between the "Thelma" actress and actor Gerald Anderson.
Chiu and Anderson broke up in 2010 amid controversies surrounding their relationship.
Following Anderson's admission of his intent to court Salvador, the Kapamilya actress, for her part, has gone on record to say that the actor makes her "feel special."
Since the controversial falling out of Salvador and Chiu, allegedly over Anderson, reports of alleged tension on the set of "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" have surfaced. But both actresses have maintained that they continue to be professional while filming for the primetime soap. Their co-actors in the series have likewise attested to this.
"Ang pagkakaibigan, nagkakaintindihan," Salvador said. "Pero nandito lang kami sa lugar ngayon, sa sitwasyon ngayon kung saan kailangan namin pagdaanan."
Asked on the chances she and Chiu will reconcile as best friends, Salvador said, "Hindi ko man maibalik 'yung friendship na kung ano man na meron kami, sana in time ma-realize niya [at] ng lahat na nandito ako bilang totoong kaibigan."
