Actress-singer KC Concepcion maintained that she and Piolo Pascual, her leading man in the upcoming television series “Lovers in Paris,” are just “working partners.”   

Concepcion told abs-cbnNEWS.com that it is only natural for them to become friends given that they are now spending more time together for their TV series.

“Pero right now hindi ko pa din masasabi na close kami. Nagkataon lang na nagkakilala kami before. Lumalabas kami pero grupo din. Pero ang tagal-tagal na nga, di ko na nga maalala,” she told reporters after her contract signing Monday for her first TV show.

Concepcion was reacting to rumors romantically linking her and Pascual, a former suitor.

“Hindi naman kami ka-close, marami ding nagbago in the five years na hindi kami nagkita,” she said.

Concepcion and the rest of the cast and crew of “Lovers in Paris” flew Tuesday to Paris, France to begin shooting some scenes there. They are expected to stay in Paris for three weeks.

In his previous interview, Pascual said Concepcion, who studied in Paris, had volunteered to be his “personal tour guide.”

Concepcion, for her part, said they have yet to plan their itineraries. 

“Ang alam ko kay PJ (Pascual) hindi siya mahilig sa parang postcard,  ‘yong masyadong maganda. Gusto niya ‘yong mga lumang buildings. Hindi naman sobrang perfect basta maganda,” she said.

Concepcion, who cut her hair for her role, said while taping for the romantic-comedy TV series she realized that she still has a lot to learn about the industry.

“Ngayon mas [lalo] ko pang nirerespeto sila Bea Alonzo, Anne Curtis, Angel Locsin at si ate Judy Ann Santos kasi ‘yong mga soap nila ang dami na nilang nagawa. Nakaka-humble,” she said.
