MANILA, Philippines - Actor Sid Lucero is now on cloud 9 as he confirmed some good news.
Lucero revealed he was nominated for 2 categories in the upcoming 8th ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards.
The actor, who just bagged his first endorsement, that for Great Taste Trio coffee mix, is nominated for Best Actor for the indie film "Muli", and Best Supporting Actor for the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Rosario."
"The nomination--of course, I'm so excited about it. You know, para sa akin, I was just doing my job. I had fun doing it. Basta masarap. Masarap talaga. Basta ang importante sa akin na you know about the award itself. Ang dating sa akin noon is parang you are doing your job. And thank you for [that]. Yes, well, it's flattering pero sa akin, guys, para sa inyo talaga ito," he said.
Lucero said that right now, he's just happy with all the blessings he has been receiving.
"You know what, I'm very happy. I really feel blessed talaga. Thank you so much. That's all I can say," he said.
In the Best Actor category, Lucero will be up against Prince of Indie Coco Martin ("Noy"), celebrity stylist Fanny Serrano ("Tarima"), and John Lloyd Cruz ("Miss You Like Crazy").
For the Best Supporting Actor award, Lucero will slug it out with Allen Dizon ("Sigwa"), Coco Martin ("Sa ‘Yo Lamang"), Dolphy ("Rosario"), Kenneth Ocampo ("Muli"), Nico Antonio ("Magkakapatid"), and Tirso Cruz III ("Sigwa").
Lucero also laughed off reports about an alleged photo of him circulating on the Internet.
The photo shows the actor dancing on the lap of a girl. Report has it that the actor went wild during a drinking session with the cast of his upcoming film "Prey."
Lucero explained that he was just having fun and he doesn't think that there's anything wrong dancing with his co-workers and co-star, French actress Isabelle Huppert.
"I know in the shoot I gave Isabella a lap dance. Maybe that's the one. Kapal ng mukha ko ano?," he said.
"It was to break the ice. Kasi she's always alone or with her producer. Sabi ko kay direk, 'Direk (Brillante Mendoza), I wanna give her a lap dance. I don't care anymore. Play my song.' I took 2 shots and they played the song and I started dancing," he said.
Lucero even said that Huppert, a good actress, also enjoyed his dance.
"After a while, she was smiling. Ok siya, she was game. She's an awesome person talaga," he said.
