John Lloyd, Piolo, Dennis Trillo in Star Awards selfie
MANILA -- Inspired by the viral Oscars selfie initiated by host Ellen DeGeneres, some of the biggest names in local showbiz posed for a group shot Sunday night during the Star Awards for Movies ceremony.
On Monday, Maja Salvador and Ai Ai delas Alas took to Instagram to share photos of the rare moment, which also included fellow ABS-CBN stars John Lloyd Cruz and Piolo Pascual, TV5's Aga Muhlach and Baron Geisler, and GMA-7 actor Dennis Trillo.
The selfie, which was taken by Cruz with Salvador's phone, happened shortly after delas Alas received her Dekada Actress award.
The three-time Best Actress winner drew laughs earlier when she began her six-minute speech by taking a selfie by herself.
"Thank you po sa inyong lahat. Pero bago po ang lahat--" delas Alas said, as she posed for her cellphone camera on stage. "Bihira lang po kasi ito!"
After delas Alas' speech, the Dekada Actor awardees -- Muhlach, Geisler, Cruz, Trillo, and Pascual -- were once again presented on stage, prompting program host Salvador to call them on for another selfie, this time as a group.
"At dahil ho naumpisahan na ni Ms. Ai ang pag-se-selfie, miminsan lang ito, kailangan may selfie tayo sa kanilang lahat!" Salvador said.
As of writing, delas Alas' Instagram photo of the moment, which appears to have been taken from off the stage, already had over 2,500 likes.
The actual group selfie posted by Salvador on her page, meanwhile, has already garnered over 10,700 likes and over 200 comments.

Salvador's selfie with her fellow film stars was inspired by a similar moment during the 86th Academy Awards a week earlier, where DeGeneres gathered several big-name actors for a group photo.
The selfie, which included the likes of Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryll Streep, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie, was posted on Twitter and within five minutes already had nearly 100,000 retweets.
As of writing, the photo already had over 3.3 million retweets -- a record. -- with a report from Fidea Encarnacion, ABS-CBNnews.com
