MANILA – Toni Gonzaga has begun recording for her fifth album under Star Records, the music label of ABS-CBN.

In a video posted on its official YouTube account, Gonzaga explained in an interview why her fifth album will only contain six tracks.

“I’ve recorded three. Nagre-record ako ngayon ng pang fourth. It will just be a simple album. Talagang we’ll make it very personal na hindi namin lalagyan ng kanta na sobrang dami na may mga ibang song na hindi mabibigyan ng pansin. Parang every song is really special, pinaghandaan,” she said.

Gonzaga further shared that the theme song of her blockbuster movie, “Starting Over Again,” will be part of the upcoming album.

Asked what preparations she made before recording the Natalie Cole original, Gonzaga said: “Nung una kasi, for eight months yun ang motivation sa akin ni Inang (Olivia Lamasan). Kapag mino-motivate niya ako, pinapatugtog niya yung kantang yun.

Misalucha was the one who performed the theme song of Gonzaga’s movie with Piolo Pascual.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga said she has yet to think about the concept of her music video.

“I’m just really happy with the songs that we’re able to record. When it comes to the music video, siguro hindi ko pa siya masyadong iniisip ngayon kasi we are really focusing on the music. Siguro after, maybe we can collaborate, maybe I can suggest,” she said.

Gonzaga said she is hoping her supporters could grab a copy of her fifth album once it gets released in music stores nationwide.

“We are about to come out with my fifth studio album and we pray that you can all get a copy, the original one. Support OPM because we have a lot of talented music producers and composers. We promise you that this is going to be a very special album,” she said.
