MANILA, Philippines - After her public apology to Ruffa Gutierrez, Kris Aquino did another magnanimous act when she condoled with one of her fiercest critics whose mom died recently.

Without fanfare, Kris, in black tops and denim pants, breezed through a throng of mourners with Jude Estrada tailing her at the Funeraria Nacional in Araneta Avenue Tuesday night to pay her last respects to Felina S. Fermin, mother of TV host and entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin.

Fermin, a former co-host of Kris at “The Buzz” with Ruffa and Boy Abunda, has been very vocal about her sentiments against Aquino. She was busy entertaining and talking to guests very near the casket when a confidante informed her about Kris’ appearance.

Aquino, accompanied by a friend, immediately went to where Fermin was and half-smilingly somberly kissed her.

Together, they viewed the body of the dead and afterwards found themselves talking about the cause of death and other pleasantries.

At that point, Fermin showed her civility. She introduced Kris to her kin and friends who didn’t squander any moment posing with her for photo opportunities.

Kris, on the other hand, willingly joined them for souvenir shots.

She also condoled with the bereaved family as well as her colleagues in the entertainment community plus some members of the movie press who were mourning.

When this writer and a fellow scribe Vir Gonzales got to Fermin to kiss her goodbye, we whispered to Kris “that was magnanimous of you."

Aquino just smiled and we bade each other adieu.

Kris had a spat with Ruffa Gutierrez last Sunday regarding the latter's decision to leave ABS-CBN and their weekly celebrity talk show, "The Buzz," for TV 5. Kris apologized to her the next day.
