MANILA, Philippines -- After doing a cameo role in the hit daytime series "Be Careful With My Heart," comedienne Melai Cantiveros will soon be part of the primetime drama "Apoy Sa Dagat."

On the morning show "KrisTV" on Wednesday, Cantiveros announced that she will start taping for the Angelica Panganiban starrer that afternoon.

"Later sa Calatagan, first taping day sa 'Apoy sa Dagat. Yes, lalabas na din ako sa 'Apoy Sa Dagat,'" Cantiveros told host Kris Aquina.

Cantiveros said she is excited to be part of the show since she will be working with Panganiban, her close friend and co-star in the gag shows "Banana Split" and "Banana Nite."

Busy schedule

In the interview, Cantiveros also admitted that she got sick due to over-fatigue.

Aside from her gag shows, the comedienne is also part of the newest season of "I Dare You."

"Magaling na ako. Over-fatigue na siguro at dahil na din sa init. Sunday, I went to Subic for 'I Dare' You taping, at 4:30 a.m. ang call time. Tapos sa init ng araw. Tapos change location sa Makati, so tired, natapos ng 7 p.m. Tapos nagsimba sa Don Bosco. After nun pagod na ako at hindi ko na kayang gumising ng umaga," she told Aquino.

"Tapos Monday hindi ako nakasipot sa 'KrisTV' hindi ako makatayo. Pero nag-'I Dare You' pa din ako after lunch sa Philippine Children's Hospital. Tapos Tuesday sa 'Banana Split' ay 3 a.m. nag-pack up at ngayon sa 'KrisTV,'" she continued.

Turns down foreign suitor

Cantiveros also revealed that she has turned down her Australian suitor, who has returned to his home country, but said they remain friends.

"Naubos ang kilig ko. Bata pa din naman 'yung Australian. Let's face the reality na mahirap (talaga), she said.

"Ang gusto ko kasi mag-focus sa work. Every day ako walang time matulog and I enjoy the company naman of Jason (Francisco). Sobrang nararamdaman ko na ang effort niya (ni Jason)," Cantiveros added.

In a previous interview, the comedienne admitted that she and her Australian suitor have gone out on dates and that the foreigner even visited her on the set of "Banana Split."

They also went to Baguio, along with her brother, who acted as her companion.
