Edu, Willie have good chances in 2010 polls

Television host-actor Edu Manzano and Wowowee host Willie Revillame could win seats in the Senate if elections were held today, according to the latest opinion poll of Pulse Asia.

Revillame, who has not indicated an interest in running for the Senate, proved his popular appeal by being in the top 20 most preferred senatorial candidates for the 2010 elections.

According to the Pulse Asia nationwide survey conducted February 2 to 15, Revillame would be within striking distance of the 12 seats up for grabs if he decides to join the race. He could land in 17th to 23rd place if elections were held today.

Manzano, who is also chief of the Optical Media Board, has an even better chance than Revillame: he could end up in 6th to 12th place.

Incumbent actor-senators Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr. are shoo-ins to getting re-elected. Both have 100% awareness ratings.  Estrada could land in 1st to 3rd place while Revilla could place 5th to 11th spot.

ABS-CBN broadcaster Korina Sanchez, who has not mentioned whether she plans to join the race, is another strong potential bet. She could land in 12th to 16th place.

Actor-host and Dangerous Drugs Board chief Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, a former two-term senator, could land in 8th to 16th place.

The nationwide survey was based on a sample of 1,200 representatives adults, 18 years old and above. It has a plus/minus 3% margin of error.

The respondents were shown 65 names from which to choose their preferences for senators.

Twelve seats in the Senate will be contested in the 2010 elections.

edu & willie

For us here in the kingdom,we are aware of what is happening there in our country, especially in POLITICS issue. We have so much government officials now in public office that are useless,do we have to put again another one in the long list of undesirable allien in the government? Edu will be a good public servant, but willie, its a big question mark! What kind of service willie will going to render to the people, yon pagiging arogante niya, yon pagiging mayabang niya, we dont need people whose attitude and character is like this. We need someone who can help us OFW and fellow Pilipinos to solve our lingering problem.Nakakaawa ng ang bayan natin, talamak na ang nakawan, talamak pa ang walang utak sa public office. Do we have to vote another useless man, yon ang alam lang e magyabang at ipagyabang ang kanyang kayamanan.Beware of this name WILLIE REVELLAME in case you see his name in the list of candidates, wala na ba tayong alam iboto kundi yon mga useless, uneducated, basketbolista, boksengiro, artista at kung sino sino na lang, kaya ganyan ang ating bayan kasi we are the one who makes HIM suffer, we put people who do not know PUBLIC SERVICE MEANS.SALAMAT PO.

arman maranan

ayoko nah!!!

ayoko ng artista sa gobyerno natin....sawa na ko!!!!!!!!!!!!!

showbiz muna

eh kasi sa pillpinas majority ng tao ay mahilig sa entertainment.kaya ginawang qualification ng isang politician is to be in showbiz muna to gain popularity para manalo.like in california the state of stars, di ba si arnold artista din kaya naging governor.
i think, if ever na boboto ako,i will look at his/her personal capabilities and achievements , and not by his/her profession.

wow naman

if this polling numbers are true and will come to reality for sure we are going to have a banana republic. I don't even understand anymore how under qualified personalities are becoming legislator and if this is the the norm why do we need qualifications for find a govenment position in all levels, should be a free for all scenario. No wonder so many issues are keeping the supreme court busy. what is shameful is they are passing bills which does'nt have a constitutional basis it is more of just the feel and prerogatives of this elected arrogant officials. O diyos ko po bakit mi hinayaan pamunuan ng mga sankaterbang magnanakaw at mga gago ang PILIPINAS...we regard philippine government officials as metal and moral dysfuntion of our society and hoping this showbiz personalities just stick to what they do and come to their right senses of not conrtibuting to this banana republic

wag naman lahatin...

Gov.Vi made it very well in Batangas...at artista sxa...

START HEARING THIS......"DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE OR INSULT THE INTELLIGENCE, COURAGE AND UNBOUNDED POTENTIAL OF THE MODERN DAY FILIPINOS"......the BARANGAY BMPM-AAS(boto-mo-patrol-mo..ako ang simula) is a FORCE to reckon with......I'll leave it at that...

The voters should be informed

The voters should be informed that senatorial slates or any other elective positions are not for popularity contest. Juan de la Cruz, mag-isip ka naman.
