Actress-host Ruffa Gutierrez

MANILA, Philippines -- Model David Semerad finally spoke up on reports romantically linking him to actress-host Ruffa Gutierrez.

In his official Twitter account, Semerad, 20, stressed that he and the 38-year-old former beauty queen are just good friends.

"Hi everyone, we would like to clear some things up," Semerad tweeted, adding that it has been a year since he and twin brother Anthony met Gutierrez at a party thrown by Bench head honcho Ben Chan.

"Since then we've become the best of friends. She's like a sister to us and we are part of one big happy crew," Semerad said.

"Please stop putting malice into our friendship. There's no romantic angle and I respect Ruffie and her kids a lot. I hope this puts an end to all of this. Thanks guys! God bless," the model added.

Also on Twitter, Gutierrez extended her appreciation to Semerad for clearing her name.

"Thank you @davidjsemerad for clearing my name and for defending me. ☺ That's why you're part of our crew cuz ur a gentleman & not a user," Gutierrez said.

She added: "And to those have wild fantasies and bizarre imaginations, so sorry to disappoint you. The Semerads are just my good friends.”
