Television host Ruffa Gutierrez on Tuesday appeared on morning show “Ruffa and Ai” wearing a big sunglass to hide her bloodshot left eye.

In a text mesage sent by Gutierrez via K-Text, the former beauty queen said her eye got irritated after she forgot to remove her contact lenses before going to sleep. She said she had her eye checked at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan Monday.

"Sabi ng doktor na nasira or pumutok ‘yong isang vessel outside of the cornea. So, nagkaroon siya ng hemorrhage or internal bleeding although hindi naman siya major or serious. Pero ‘yong dugo nandiyan siya for one week," she explained. 

"Nakatulog kasi ako wearing my one-day contact lens. I forgot to remove them kaya dumikit sa mata ko. Ouch!!! Ayoko na muna mag-contacts," the actress added.

Learning her lesson the hard way, she said she would be extra careful next time.  

Last week, it was Gutierrez’s co-host on "Ruffa & Ai," Ai-Ai delas Alas, who was hospitalized in Quezon City due to kidney infection and gastritis.
