Why Kathryn can't commit to Daniel Padilla
MANILA -- Teen star Kathryn Bernardo admitted that religion will play a huge part if ever she decides to take her relationship with leading man Daniel Padilla to the next level.
During a press conference for her upcoming debut, the 17-year-old teen actress said she can only see herself committing to a relationship with someone who share the same religious beliefs.
A member of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), Bernardo said that she would often talk and joke about the topic with Padilla, who is a known Catholic.
"Minsan napag-uusapan namin 'yang about sa religion na 'yan, about sa mga differences ng teachings ng mga INC sa ganyan," she said.
The actress, however, clarified that she is not pressuring the teen actor into converting.
But the "Got To Believe" lead star revealed that she doesn't have anyone else in mind but Padilla as her boyfriend.
Aside from gwapo, 'yung personality maganda," she said.
Asked if she would be willing to switch religions if it was the other way around, she gamely answered, "Of course, pero titingan ko muna 'yung teachings kung pasok sa mga pinaniniwalaan ko. Kung pasok naman eh walang problema."
She added that what's important is having a fear for God, whichever a person's chosen religion may be. "Importante sa akin 'yung naniniwala at may takot sa taas," she said.
