Judy Ann won't take leave from showbiz
MANILA, Philippines - Young Superstar Judy Ann Santos won't be leaving showbiz even if she's already two months pregnant by her husband, host-actor Ryan Agoncillo.
In an interview, Santos admitted that being pregnant is a new chapter in her life, but this does not mean that she will say goodbye to her career.
"Ang hirap magsalita ngayon kasi nga, hindi ko masabi kung saan ako dadalhin nito. But, of course, itutuloy ko pa din ang karera. Hindi ko naman ito basta pwede i-give up," Santos said.
Santos said she will just have to prioritize quality film and TV projects.
"Pero nandoon yong mas marami ka ng ipa-prioritize, na siguro mas mapili lang ako sa proyekto, but I will make it a point na yong proyektong gagawin ko ay palaging maalala ng mga tao. Yon bang kahit isang beses akong gumawa ng pelikula sa isang taon, dalawang beses akong gumawa ng pelikula at isang teleserye ay palaging magmamarka at palagi niyo akong maaalala," she said.
On March 12, Santos and her husband confirmed that she is two months pregnant with their first child.
She said she and her husband had been praying for a baby after getting married last April 28, 2009 in San Juan, Batangas.
Santos said she had no preference on the baby's gender as long as the baby is healthy.
She added that because of the pregnancy, she would have to take it slow when it comes to work.
'Extra careful' while working
Aside from tapings for her hit Kapamilya teleserye "Habang May Buhay," Santos is also starring in 2 movies, one under Viva Films with Sarah Geronimo, and another under Unitel with Marilou Diaz-Abaya.
"Extra careful lang sa work, medyo magbabawas lang ng konti sa trabaho, pero tatapusin ko lahat ng nasimulan bago mag-bakasyon ng dire-diretso para maging safe ang baby at maging safe din ako," Santos said in a separate interview.
Agoncillo and Santos were first paired in the teleserye "Krystala" where their romance blossomed. They have starred in two movies together, "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo" and "Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo" -- both of which have been box office hits.
Agoncillo proposed marriage to Santos on her 30th birthday in May 2008.
The couple recently starred in ABS-CBN's weekly show "George & Cecil."
Santos currently stars in Kapamilya's hit television series "Habang May Buhay," while Agoncillo is hosting a talent search show for TV5.
