MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN stars on Sunday defended actress Angel Locsin on allegations that she is becoming an alcoholic.

Actress Cristine Reyes said there was no truth to rumors that Locsin has a drinking problem. She said Locsin and her friend, Bubbles Paraiso, are very responsible and do not have vices.

"Actually si Angel at Bubbles Paraiso (friend of Angel) silang dalawa ang sobrang maalaga sa sarili nila so hindi ko alam bakit sila na iisyu ng ganoon," she said.

TV host Valerie Concepcion said she has never seen Locsin drunk in all the years they have been together under the care of talent manager Becky Aguila.

"The Buzz" hosts Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino also chimed in, saying that while Locsin is not perfect, she is not in any way becoming an alcoholic.

"She is not a perfect angel but napakabuting tao. She is a wonderful, beautiful human being," Abunda said.

Added Aquino: "Si Angel ang masasabi ko lang, you cannot put a good woman down. You can say all the nastiest things in the world about her but babangon at babangon 'yan because she has a good heart. Matulungin sa mga tao na sincere... and she is a good friend. So ako I'm standing by you on this Gel count on me."

Actor-host Luis Manzano, Locsin's former boyfriend, also belied reports that Locsin "lost control" recently after a late night out with friends.

"I can vouch for it. I can bet everything that I have. Hindi siya lasenggera at hindi siya alcoholic. I know that for a fact and people close to her and people know her and kahit fans niya know na hindi siya ganoon," he said.

Earlier reports said Locsin "lost control" after going on a drinking spree with friends including Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda.

Another report said Locsin left her home last March 16 and went to Hong Kong without telling her family. It said that Locsin fled because of problems with her former manager, Becky Aguila.

But, on her Twitter account last March 16, Locsin said that she was home and did a general cleaning.

Currently, Locsin is gearing up for a television series with actor John Lloyd Cruz. and a movie with Aga Muhlach.

She is also busy with her newest fitness activities -- pole dancing and insanity workout.
