MANILA, Philippines - Jason Francisco apologized to John Prats for hitting him in the face during rehearsals for a late-night gag show in San Juan on Thursday.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, Francisco admitted that he got mad because Prats and the rest of the "Banana Split" cast kept teasing his former girlfriend, Melai Cantiveros, who is also part of the gag show.

So parang ngayon lang dumating 'yung punto na parang nag-burst out sa damdamin ko, parang ang bilis ng pangyayari, na nagawa ko sa kanya 'yun," he said.

"Kasi minsan 'yung tuksuhan, natutukso si Melisa (Cantiveros) so parang ako man ay nasasaktan para sa kanya, hindi niya alam 'yon," he added.

Francisco then said sorry to Prats in the interview, but maintained that he is willing to talk to him personally to apologize.

So sana maintindihan mo bilang lalaki ba na nagmamahal.

Prats, who was hit three times by Francisco on his cheek and chin, already reported the incident to the San Juan police.

The actor-dancer said that he has decided to pursue charges against Francisco.
