Kris Aquino to welcome Malaysian PM
MANILA - Host-actress Kris Aquino will attend the signing of the peace agreement between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) today.
In her official Instagram account on Thursday, Aquino said she will join her brother, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, in welcoming Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Datin Rosmah in Malacañang.
The prime minister, which helped broker the peace talks, will witness the historic event.
"Signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro in Malacañang this afternoon. Privileged to have been assigned to join PNoy in welcoming Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak & his wife Datin Rosmah and other distinguished guests. Got up early to do my reading on this historical event," Aquino wrote.
The Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro that will be signed has 5 component documents -- the framework agreement signed in 2012, and separate annexes on power sharing, normalization, wealth sharing and revenue generation, and transitional arrangements and modalities.
Aquino, who is very busy with her own "Kris TV" show and co-hosting "Aquino & Abunda Tonight", has helped her brother during official events at the Palace.
