MANILA -- Angelica Panganiban was once offered to leave ABS-CBN after more than a decade of being an exclusive Kapamilya talent.

In an interview in the April 2013 issue of entertainment magazine StarStudio, the 26-year-old actress said she had been offered to transfer by a rival network, but decided against it, citing the drastic shift that would come with switching stations.

"Para akong lilipat ng bansa, ganoon 'yung pakiramdam ko... Bagong bahay, bagong community, bagong pakikisamahan," she said.

Panganiban said she consulted her mom Annabelle, her handler Cris Navarro, and her friends on possibly taking up the offer, but ultimately, her loyalty to ABS-CBN outweighed any considerations to leave the network.

Now celebrating her 20th year in showbiz, Panganiban's career has been managed through and through by ABS-CBN's talent management arm Star Magic, tracing back to her mainstay gig in the kiddie gag show "Ang TV" in '90s.

For the last two decades -- which have seen her reaping awards for her TV and film portrayals across genres -- Panganiban has been an exclusive Kapamilya talent.

"Malaki talaga ang utang na loob ko sa kanila," the actress said. "Sa lahat ng project na ginawa ko, talagang sila 'yung nandiyan, susuporta sa'yo. Nakabakod talaga sila."

"I don't think magkakaroon ako ng manager na magiging ganoon 'yung treatment, magiging tatay mo (Star Magic's Johnny Manahan), nanay mo (Star Magic head Mariole Alberto). Kahit sa mga handlers namin, ganoon kasi kaalaga," she said.

In the April 2013 issue of StarStudio, out in newsstands now, Paganiban relates her beginnings as an actress up to the time when she decided to shed her good-girl, "tweetums" image for a more mature and daring onscreen persona.

She also recalls her break-up with former boyfriend actor Derek Ramsay, and opens up on her relationship with current partner John Lloyd Cruz.
