Actor Derek Ramsay said he is willing to work with actress-singer Gretchen "La Greta" Barretto.

Ramsay told abs-cbnNEWS.com said he is positive that there won’t be a boring moment with the “bubbly” and controversial magnet actress if he works with her.

The actor said he was flattered upon hearing the news that Barretto wants to do a film with him as her leading man.

When asked why she picked Ramsay, who she described as the dark cute guy, Barretto said: "I like to work with him. He doesn’t look so young, (kasi) ayaw ko ng masyadong young ang leading man ko.”

When sought for his reaction, Ramsay said: "It's humbling that a compliment like that comes from a successful actress. So, if given an opportunity to work with her, I'll be there. I will do it."

Ramsay is also unfazed by controversies that might crop up if he and Barretto begins doing a project together.

Thoughts on marriage

Meanwhile, Ramsay, boyfriend of Angelica Panganiban, confessed that, against the tradition, he wants to have a baby first before marriage.

“For me, if you married somebody, it is not a proof that I love her more. For me, the person whose gonna have my child is the person I wanna spend the rest of my life with. So marriage or no marriage, my commitment is to that person and to that family that we are gonna start," he expounded.

He said the wedding ceremony is “not a big deal for me.” “But if my partner would want to have that special day I would give that to her."

Ramsay said Panganiban disagrees with his views but he maintained that she respects them.

"She also realized that there are couples who [got separated] and she realized na may point ang pinagsasabi  ko. But I’m not trying to change her views on marriage. I'm just sharing my view at kapag gusto niya we will do it," he said.

'The house'

Ramsay also cleared reports that her girlfriend is now working hard in order to build their dream house. The actor confirmed that the actress is doubling her efforts to build, not their home, but her own house.

"Pareho kaming nagpapagawa ng bahay so pareho kaming kumakayod to build our houses. Separate ito since we are not married yet. So totoo, kumakayod siya at kumakayod ako,” he said.

Ramsay will be part of ABS-CBN's "Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo’s Maruja."
