New Bb Pilipinas-Universe vows to give best
MANILA, Philippines – This year's Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Helen Nicolette Henson on Tuesday said she was saddened that Maria Venus Raj has been stripped of her crown and title due to her questionable birth records.
Raj was originally crowned Bb Pilipinas-Universe, but was dethroned “because of inconsistencies with her birth records.” Henson, who was named 2nd runner-up, took over Raj’s place after the pageant’s 1st runner up failed to meet the age requirement of Miss Universe Pageant.
According to Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc., there are some inconsistencies contained in Raj's birth records in contrast to her personal account of her birth.
Henson, the 21-year-old Broadcast Journalism major at St. Scholastica's College, said Raj is a friend and “really a formidable competitor.” Nonetheless, Henson promised to do her best when she represents the country in the prestigious Miss Universe competition.
The beauty queen from Pampanga said up until now she is still in shock, adding that it has always been her dream to become a beauty queen. She admitted that she is excited and nervous at the same time.
She said she hopes her lucky charm, a rosary given by her mom who passed away, will work when she competes in the prestigious beauty contest, which will be held either in August or September. -Report from Ginger Conejero, ABS-CBN News
SHAME ON YOU!
I wish you all the luck..hope
