Nancy Binay hopes to know Vice Ganda more
MANILA – Despite not being on the same side during the 2013 mid-term elections, Senator Nancy Binay said she is glad to have the chance to get to know Vice Ganda on a personal level.
Last week, Vice Ganda and Binay had dinner together, which was hosted by their common friend.
This was almost a year since the “It’s Showtime” host publicly criticized Binay, saying he was not impressed with the track record -- or the alleged lack of it -- of the then-senatorial candidate.
In an interview on “Buzz ng Bayan” which aired on Sunday, Binay narrated in detail how the dinner with Vice Ganda went.
“There was no awkward moment nung nakita ko siya. Pinakilala ako nung common friend namin. Hindi ko alam kung sino ang nauna sa aming dalawa pero I said, ‘Nice to meet you,’” she said.
As if nothing was said in the past, Binay said she and Vice Ganda immediately started a conversation and even took pictures together.
“Actually nung una nga, nung nagpi-picture picture, sabi ko sa kanya ‘Ang tangkad mo pala.’ Ang tangkad niya pala in person. Tapos natawa nga siya. Sabi ko sa kanya na yung staff niya has been inviting me sa ‘Gandang Gabi Vice.’ Biniro ko siya na pagbalik ko baka pwede na yung schedule kaso lang hindi ko kaya mag-push up tapos natawa siya,” Binay said.
The lady senator said she is glad to have gained a new friend in Vice Ganda.
“Ang ganda nung feeling every time you make a friend. Hopefully talagang we’ll get to know each other more. Happy birthday. Katulad nga nung sinabi mo sa Instagram, love love love and more love,” she said.
