Actor, model and champion swimmer Enchong Dee has no qualms about shedding his clothes on the swimming pool or the runway but he'd rather keep his short on when it comes to hs acting career.

In an interview with abs-cbn.com, Dee said he is happy with his current acting career and enjoys modeling jobs both for print and the ramp.

“I love doing modeling jobs. Pero nung bata ako hindi ko talaga na-imagine na magiging model ako or artista. Ang gusto ko lang noon makilala ako and I thought mangyayari ‘yun because of swimming. I am okay naman sa paghuhubad sa ramp. Parang mas madali pa nga ‘yung pagmo-model sa ramp kasi wala ka namang ibang gagawin kung hindi lumakad at mag-pose. Hindi siya tulad ng acting na maraming kailangang gawin," he said.

Enchong has appeared in several TV commercials and endorses the Bench clothing line. This 20-year-old champion swimmer has no qualms with showing his body for photoshoots and fashion shows since he is used to wearing nothing but his swimsuit during trainings and competitions.

While he isn’t shy about shedding his shirt for swimming and modelling, Enchong says he is not the type who would take his shirt off just to attract attention. “Okay lang naman sa akin if it’s for work or competition. But if someone will ask me to flaunt (my body) because I have it, my question is until when will I have a good body? I just can’t take my clothes off basta-basta kasi I still want a part of me to remain private. Kapag hindi naman kailangan [maghubad] huwag na lang.”

Enchong said that he would rather leave the job of doing sexy song and dance numbers to the Coverboys. “I have nothing against them or what they are doing but mas gusto ko na ipakita ‘yung sarili ko as someone who also has a talent like marunong sumayaw, mag-host, or eventually sing (laughs). Siguro last resort ko na ‘yung paghuhubad.”

Hailing from Camarines Sur and currently studying Developmental Studies in De La Salle University, Enchong tried out showbiz to follow in the footsteps of his older brother AJ Dee. He was introduced in the teen-oriented series Abt Ur Luv together with fellow young stars like Megan Young and Victor Basa.

Enchong went on to star as the third party in Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson’s relationship in My Girl and Your Song Presents: My Only Hope. He will reunited with Abt Ur Luv partner Empress Schuck in the much-anticipated Jericho Rosales-Kristine Hermosa teleserye.
